ABOUT
Contemporary by Golconda is a leading art gallery in the local art scene. Located in the south of Tel Aviv, the gallery resides in an 80 year old building that was formerly a Tehina factory.
Contemporary strives to showcase promising contemporary artists and expose their work to the Israeli and international public. The gallery runs solo and group exhibitions, sometimes two at a time, in its two exhibition spaces: the ground floor, a large space with very high ceilings and an industrial look; and the upper floor, which is a more traditional white cube, in which more avant-garde exhibits are usually displayed.
In addition to holding exhibitions, Contemporary by Golconda also runs educational programs; the Gallery houses an information center that includes a vast contemporary library, as well as leading international art magazines; Contemporary has been known to host musical performances and fashion events that manage to integrate the art that's exhibited and showcase it.
